Whew! I feel like my I have been going a million directions lately! We finally got to make a trip up to Arlington to see Jordan's parents! It was a GREAT weekend! Friday, we arrived to dinner being set on the table! Homemade hamburgers and grilled chicken! YUMMY! We got to visit with the Ferguson's dear friends, the Kannenbergs! They are such sweet people! Saturday we got to go over to Jordan's Aunt Sherry's house. The best part of the night was watching OU get beat! I have to say I was morman for the evening! Karis had a blast playing out in the yard with the doggie. She loves to be outside! Jordan's parents have a fountain in their backyard. I have never seen Karis so entertained for such a long period of time!
Sunday was a great day! We went to the church that Jordan's grew up at, North Davis. We had a wonderful time of worship and he got to see old friends. That afternoon, we went to a wedding shower for Jordan's best friend growing up and his fiance, Jonathan and Paige. We didn't have a lot of time to visit with them at the shower, but we got an opportunity to go eat dinner together. It was great to finally put a face with this infamous name that Jordan talks about! They are both sweet people! I can see why Jordan and Jonathan were such great friends! Jonathan and Paige are getting married in October in Portland, where they are living. Since we can't make the wedding, we have been talking about the possiblity of going to visit! Hooray!
On Monday, we took an hour drive over to Decatur where my Aunt Jan, Gran and Granpa live. We got to visit and eat lunch with them. Their next door neighbors have a horse! Karis was amazed! She wanted to ride it so bad! I was a little nervous, but she hopped up there just like a pro! The horse was so sweet and Karis of course fell in love! She rode all around and Jordan took one for the team and got her off the horse! All in all, it was a great day!
Weekends like these remind me how important it is to take the time to get away from it all! Coming off of a busy summer, it was nice to get to go and relax with family that we don't get to see all the time. I am reminded how important it is for Karis to get to spend time with her great grandparents. Not all kids are as lucky as Karis to have 3 living great grandparents! Take time and enjoy the sweet moments... if you don't they'll be gone before you know it...
